'Light of Life'

This magnificent painting of an African lion was inspired by the beauty of this big cat.

Painted by well known, Irish wildlife artist, Steven Farrell.

The artist chose this image of such a majestic lion specifically and chose to use a rich colour palette to explore the progress of ones life, like the sun traveling across the sky from its rise to its fall. 

This lion painting was created over several weeks by building up countless layers of fine detail and glazes to build tone, depth and texture.

This painting took almost 100 hours' to complete.
